I havent, been fishing much for the last month or so nor have I been online much.
With that said, about a week ago I had a little spare time on my hands so I figured I would go to Rogers Park and try out this swim bait I recently bought.
For those who know Rogers Parks ponds I was fishing the back pond.

As I walked down the short hill onto the bridge out of the corner of my eye I seen something move slowly away from the shore island.

Rather then pinning the movement on sunnys which are usually in that area I took my one and only cast.
The lure hits the water and two complete rotations of my real I get a hard it (oh boy!).
I set the hook and begin I very satisfying and entertaining fight with what i know now is a large mouth bass.
Splashing and trying to escape I get her to shore and scoop this baby up.

Woooooo Hooooo He!! Yeah
I believe the bass was close to 4lbs

I took a picture with my cell which doesnt justify the fish well but shows the length up against my blazer door.
I will try to upload the picture some time today.

Rogers Park Back pond
Fishing from the bridge to the left side of the island

Using a small 4in storm kickin tail
Color - gizzard shad
Kick tails work very well for me in spring and late fall
