im sure there will be a few that do it but the majority wont,theres limited time during the year they occupy the same water column and thats spring and the dead of summer,most of the salmon are caught in crystal by springtime and during the heat of summer the salmon are struggling to stay alive and arent in the mood to eat,the thing with the salmon is thier usually surface or shallow water fish until forced deep by the heat. the longer they live in the lake the better chance they will switch to herring but most are caught way before then.
