They say patience is a virtue, not that I have a lot of patience generally. In any case, I finally heard back from the AG's office yesterday regarding my email on the Town of Morris boat launch on Bantam Lake. You can read the reply by going to the bottom of this page and then you can see my reply back below. Bottom line is the AG contacted the DEEP who in turn contacted the Town of Morris who said that though we do have a new ordinance, and yes it does say residents only, we continue to not enforce this ordinance. So I would say if Beverly's is full then try the Town of Morris launch and more importantly, the parking area at the Town of Morris launch should be available to anyone during the ice fishing season so you can easily fish that part of the south bay. This closes this chapter of an over three year saga. ----------------------------------------------------------------
Kim, yes it helps a lot and I thank you. I know with a new AG you have been very busy on much more important issues so we in the boating and fishing community needed to be patient. With ice fishing season coming up this was actually getting more important because the town launch is the favorite spot to access Bantam Lake's south bay versus using the new state launch at Beverly's. We are very appreciative of your efforts and those of the DEEP. Thank you, George
