Hi,

I want to take the opportunity to give you an update on the status of the TMA stocking. I’ll try to post weekly to keep you informed as to what we are doing. As you know fishing season has closed in many of CT's streams and rivers and a number of lakes and ponds (there are no new regulations in effect for the 2013 season, so refer to the 2012 online Anglers Guide for complete regulations). However, there are plenty of opportunities to wet a line in any of the State's 16 Trout Management Areas as well as all Class 1 Wild Trout Management Areas (which remain open year round for catch-and-release fishing).

3/7/2013 =The Mill River Trout Management Area (TMA) in Fairfield and the Willimantic River Cole Wilde TMA have been stocked this week. Note that the Cole Wilde TMA is fly fishing only.

3/11/13 = The Moosup River Trout Management Area in Plainfield was stocked with brown and rainbow trout late last week. Don't forget you can access the same trout stocking maps that the Inland Fisheries Division use here: Stocking Maps

3/15/2013 = Want to pass along some great fishing opportunities for this weekend as several Trout Management Areas (TMA) have been stocked the past few days: Salmon River TMA, Saugatuck River TMA (fly fishing only), Yantic River TMA, and the Hammonasset River TMA.

3/19/2013 = The Inland Fisheries Division has stocked the Hockanum River Trout Management Area (TMA) and the West Branch Farmington River seasonal TMA (from Goodwin dam (Hartland) downstream to old footbridge abutments located 1.4 miles past Still River confluence and from route 219 bridge (New Hartford) downstream to the route 177 bridge (Unionville)) with brown, brook, and rainbow trout!
