"Crossbows are not legal in all areas for anyone during the standard bow season. Many states like Ohio Pa RI and Wyoming as well as many southern states all bows are legal durring bow season.

Your comment about a poachers dream is way off base. You sound like someone from the old days that fought to have compound bows illegal when everyone used recurves. Have you ever hunted with a crossbow? There are enough anti hunters out there already and you should support all hunting. Do you support PETA?"

If you are talking about People Eating tasty animals, then yes I support it.

Crossbows are legal for disabled hunters in all areas last I checked in the archery season, what else are you talking about? I have no issue with the disabled using one of those things in the archery season, but the use of a crossbow as a weapon in the archery season by a non-disabled hunter I don't support. Archery is a sport that takes time, practice and skill to master, it takes more time to learn then buying a crossgun off the shelves and sighting in the scope a shooting "bolts" at deer.

Connecticut has a long firearms, muzzleloader and private land seasons that the crossbow can be used in, why invade the archery season? I am a member of the NY bowhunters and we been beating back the crossbow lobby every year as they pour money into Albany trying to allow the crossbow into archery season.

To answer your question, no I have not used a crossbow. I enjoy the challenge of archery, I enjoy shooting all year and in the fall I enjoy the challenge of bowhunting for deer. Make a season for the crossbow like the firearms, why invade the archery season?

Just my 2 cents
