Laws only need to be posted/written, no where does it say it has to be in a free book/brochure. All they have to be is be made open to the public, welcome to the world wide web. Eveyones excuses went out with this invention.

Sorry to hear....keep us posted on how this all pans out.
The State and all agencies are hurting for money so expect they will push for getting your cash. Unfortunately laws are laws and they don't and shouldn't depend on if you are a nice guy or not. I agree the regs should be posted earlier and more clearly for the benefit of all....the fish, the fishermen and the fishery "management" divisions.
I would plead not guilty by ignorance. Paying it will equate guilt.
Read up on the regs and past cases so you are well prepared for your hearing. Losing your hunting/fishing license would probably kill you like it would me. I would probably have to move out of state to get a license there.....that wouldn't go over well with the wife and kids!
thank you again. i sent in the ticket as not guilty and i am hoping for the best. the officer did cut the ticket down to half of what it should have been (still in 3 digits) and said that she was going to put in her report that i had a great attitude. so i hope that helps.
