I have a tenant in Haddam. Lately I've noticed that he has been shooting a Rifle from my patio, and occasionally a 12 Ga. shotgun behind my property. Not 500 ft from my neighbors either? The rifle trajectory is directly toward route 9 southbound. So far, no one has called the police but the neighbors have called me to express concern. I have told them to call the police but they are afraid to start problems on the street. Go figure? isn't it illegal to shoot a firearm in a residentia area. any reply would be appreciated. also, I think he's shooting deer in my yard but can't prove it.

From what I've been told, hunting requires 500ft distance, but there is no regulation for target shooting. Each town may or may not have its own regulations.
Yes, from what I can see, he is shooting at a paper target tacked to a tree. That doesn't bother me. Route 9 is not far and I would hate to see someone get hurt.
It's your property and you make the rules , if it makes you uncomfortable tell him to stop . I'd tell him nicely , but I'd make no bones about it being non negotiable .

"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.
You never answered the question Does he pay the rent on time Besides this is he a GOOD tenent is you place still in good shape If so THANK GOD and leave it alone or let the neighbors worry about it because the next guy could TRASH you place and not PAY the rent and it could take up to six months to evict him
