capt,

is it legal to sell ammunition at a tag sale? i run the swap, and while i dont want actual gun there, a number of our members have inquired about the sale of ammo and bows/arrows. are these items legal to sell at a tage sale?

DEEP doesn't deal with the sale of firearms and ammo, that would be in the general statues and the CT State police - I'm pretty certain Ammo sales in CT falls under the federal requirements.

This may help: http://smartgunlaws.org/ammunition-regulation-policy-summary/

I don't know...the only ammo we really deal with is what you use while you are hunting. I would suggest calling the State Police firearms unit at (860) 685-8290 and ask them. I don't want to tell you something that's wrong. I've had people give me ammo, but I've never sold any or bought any at a tag sale.

If I can sell you a rifle or shotgun FTF under the assumption you would pass the background check , why would ammo be any different ?

Getting the info from the State Police is your best bet , but I'm thinking you'd be fine .
How is this any different from me picking up a few boxes for a friend the day before a duck hunt ?

.

"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.
