Sorry to bother you again on the same topic but I was wondering if the crossbow law is under the same HB as the Sunday hunting bill that is about to pass? Thanks

About to pass? Did it actually make it to the schedule for a vote?

Good question but I didn't think they were together - sure hope not since i never like the chances of Sunday going through.

Zolts- I received this email from Elaine Hinsch on May 10th. I had written an email to her in the winter in support of the new x-bow regulations. I'm not sure what "Notice of Availability" means. Hopefully someone will clarify.

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection - Proposed Hunting and Trapping Regulations, Notice of Availability

Please see attached Notice of Availability for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Proposed Hunting and Trapping Regulations. Copies of the summary of public hearing comments, the principal reasons in support and in opposition to the intended action, and the final wording of the proposed regulations are available for viewing on the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s web site: http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/browse.asp?a=2586&deepNav_GID=1511.

Hopefully someone else will chime in, but it is my understanding that this is not a Bill that needs to be "called or voted on." This is just part of the DEEP's proposed changes to our hunting regulations for this year. I believe we are just waiting for these new regulations to be added.

This is my understanding as well, the crossbow changes will hopefully be adopted and the regulation change will take affect in time for the September opener.
I do not have any info on when we can expect the regulation change to be adopted.

The crossbow language is in the regulation package not the regular legislation. That package is still working it's way through the system. I don't have any dates on it yet, but hoping that they will get approval before hunting season. (They should going by past history)

Thanks again Encon. I'm itching to buy one and get ready but I know if I do - it won't get the green light this year. Need to keep hoping it comes quick
