I launch from Stonington and fish in RI, CT and NY. It is very frustrating for me that all 3 states have different limits for the game fish I fish for. If I catch two keeper stripers in CT, I believe if I were to be checked in NY, I would have an illegal catch since they only allow 1 28-39 incher and 1 40+ inch bass. In my mind the area I fish is one fishery, and one set of regulations should be inforce. It's there any effort to produce one set of regs for is fisherman to follow?

The CT DEEP here has discussed this with NY and others...however due to the inequities in allocations by the Feds for each STATE....it'll never work.....NY has an incredible lobby of fishermen. We can't even get 100 guys at a DEEP meeting

In Bombings, we blame the Bomber. In Drunk Driving deaths we blame the Driver. In Shootings we Blame the Gun ?? wtf

What if instead of making our limits consistent which your telling me will never happen, we allow the boat fisherman to use the regs from the state where they launched or sailed out of. In my case CT regs. Would that work?
