so my kayak that i purchased quite a few years ago, i outfitted with a trolling motor. i want to register it but, i obviously do not have my original purchased receipt or bill of sale. it has a number stamp in it, as its fairly new. how do i go about registering it???? im frustrated trying to find the info on this and would rather not stand in line at the dmv. any info would be awesome! and i already have my boating license so i dont need any info on that. thanks in advance

You need some type of bill of sale to show you purchased it otherwise DMV probably won't talk to you. Once you have that it's pretty straightforward, fill out the registration form andpay the lady. There should be a HIN somewhere near the stern of the kayak. If it's a plastic/fiberglass kayak it's probably embossed into the hull itself. If it's aluminum or other material it may be riveted on there. If there is no HIN anywhere on the kayak then DMV will have you apply for a HIN which can take a bit of time.

You need to fill out the B-203 form. I did it with an old aluminum jon boat I bought off the side of the road when I was 13. 30 years later I filled out the form and I had numbers
