FYI there have been some updates to the web site http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2700&q=323414&deepNav_GID=1633 relevant to fall hunting:

• Pheasant Season totals for the 2014 season are now up-to-date – we’re buying about 200 more birds than last year and we’re going to add Meadow Brook WMA and Pootatuck SF to the list this year
• Stone’s Ranch Military Reservation in East Lyme will be open to Deer/Turkey hunters by daily permit. Instructions are on the hunting web site. Permits are available on-line only and the area is not open every day of the season so people will have to check the on-line sportsmen’s site for availability
• Daily permits will again be offered on the on-line’s sportsmen’s web site in addition to local vendors – see attached list of vendors
• The deer lottery is closed but you can still get some lottery permits on-line
• CT Duck Stamp entries are being accepted at Franklin WMA until April 15, 2015 – see rules on web site
• DEER Population study is looking for whole deer heads in all zones for CWD testing and incisors from deer in zones 1 and 5 - Deer Management Zone 1 Towns
Canaan, Cornwall, Kent, Litchfield, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Warren Deer Management Zone 5 Towns - Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Eastford, Hampton, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Scotland, Sterling, Thompson, Windham, Woodstock – See instructions on-line
