Hopeville Pond State Park Opening

With opening day of trout season moving up to the second week of April, will Hopeville be moving their opening up as well? They have always opened on opening day weekend. The state park web site has no mention of new opening dates.

As of right now it doesn't look like it will be open. Everything is weather and budget dependent. Parks is about to take a 2 million dollar hit to their operating budget so many tasks are on hold, including seasonal hiring. I did hear out west Black Rock, Macedonia and Austin Hawes are planning on being open. This may be subject to change on the aforementioned issues. If they are open, be prepared for primitive camping conditions. Lots of snow, no running water, mud etc. When I hear more I will let you all know.
