I have a piece of property I hunt that has a creek running through it. With no rain this yr it has dryed up. Is it legal to say take a big plastic bin and fill it with water. I was thinking of digging a hole to drop it in the creek bed so it will catch any run off and keeping filling it with any rain we might get. This is not in a legal baiting area and not sure if this could be taken as baiting. Thanks for your time and help.

I'd have to think that creating the source would be legal , but that actually killing a deer using it would not . Technically you would be creating a baited situation . You might also be running afoul of laws pertaining to the altering of the streambed . Probably best to just call the DEEP and ask , this sub forum is pretty dead lately .

Naturally occurring ice is considered a mineral but water is not a solid so not a mineral. I don't think having a water source would be considered baiting but , I would wanna get the answer from straight from deep to be 100% on this one it's a great question. No officer that's a giant bird bath
