So after all the brutal wind on Saturday I was really looking forward to the nice weather on Sunday. Got into the stand at 515 set ready to go. Didn't see much all morning but then around 8 am had some ass clown his girlfriend and their unleashed dog stomping down our logging road. So great now I gotta get down ruin the rest of my hunt and chase these idiots down. The guy was the definition of a d-bag, tried telling me that I need to post every 35 yards and what not that he has been waking through there for years. We'll our property butts up to the salmon river state forest. Every trail entering or exiting our property is CLEARLY marked with posted signs. He passed a good 3 or 4 coming into the property and prolly passed a few more once in. This has been a on going problem for us , wether it's people walking or riding their horses or quads and dirt bikes these people clearly have no regard for the posted signs. How do I properly, effectively and legally deal with this reoccurring problem? We work hard to try and hold deer on the property and have people like this ruining our season. I believe I got my point across to this guy cause I was really pissed but I'm tired of going through this all the time. Please help any info would be greatly appreciated since my ways so far are failing.
You will never be able to stop all trespassing, but you can manage it, I would post your property more and place trail cams where people are coming on to your property. I have had good luck with pictures and the local PD. Its hard to say you did know you where trespassing with your picture and a sign in the back ground.
Sounds like you have an access road or at least a large walking path or several of them and you really need a barrier like a gate or posts with a chain across and plenty of signage there with signage continuing for a distance. I would also consider signage to include notice that property is heavily hunted and patrolled. If you already have this esp. gates then I don't know what to tell you. "free-spirits" can be difficult to stop but worth the effort as owning and paying taxes should entitle you to decide who uses it and for what. Good luck!!

Unfortunately the airline trail splits a section of our property but where our property starts along the trail is clearly marked on just about every other tree, where the logging trail is, there is a gate with two signs and about 20 ft behind that gate is a rope hung across the trail with two no trespassing signs. At the bottom end there are signs and ropes hung at all corners and at all the riding paths that the dirtbikes and quads made. I constantly find ropes cut down signs torn down and thrown around. It's getting really frustrating and I know we can't keep everyone out but there's gotta be a better solution than what we have been doing. I don't wanna put cams out and have them stolen cause anyone who would walk past 4 or 5 no trespassing signs would surely have no problem stealing a $200 camera off a tree in the woods. Maybe I'll try different signs with a less friendly tone to them. I just wanted to see what Econn would have to say about this.

I have had similar problems with people trespassing over the years. Signs don't make a difference. Only your presence or friends and family being around will change people's behavior. I am friendly with my neighbors, and my close friends all hunt my property too. They have all helped keep an eye on things when I am not there. It is a tough situation to change, because people will do what they want to do.

Get some old or broken cameras put them facing out so they can bee seen.
Place a new camera 20 feet up in a tree facing the decoy, get pictures of trespassers and thief's more charges against them hopefully will make them go away.
