I know manpower is thin and perhaps it is something to consider for next year, but, you could go through an entire warning book in a day on Highland Lake and West Hill Pond for boating violations. Both facilities have part time ramp attendants that do a good job with what they've got but, they only see a fraction of what is really going on. Biggest deal on West Hill and most every other lake I've seen is no pfd's on paddleboards. That is rampant everywhere. At Highland, it,s not only no pfd's on paddleboarsd but the number of boats or jet skies with no observer while pulling people. On the water enforcement appears to be needed as many of these infractions are by waterfront residents. A few hour "pop in" might go a long way in getting the word out to these folks. Hot Friday afternoons would be a prime time.

The main reason I stay away from West Hill during the summer is the ramp rats that think they own the boat launch and parking lot. I have yet to see the launch attendant say something to anyone. How about the ones that pull up their kayaks on the launch and then go in the store for lunch or whatever while the kayaks are in the middle of the launch.

I will relay that information to the appropriate Officer in that area. You are correct, we are spread thin and realize the issues at hand at both lakes. Thank you for keeping us informed as to what is going on out there. I do send these up the chain of command to let them know what is going on and the need for more enforcement.
