Did a major jump outside of my little box saturday.i apologise for the limited facts but i think everyone needs to see this.i can say this much,these fish came from unstocked waters,western ct.pristine water yet i found this my best advice is do not eat,this is a potential health issue even after thorough cooking.freezing may not kill this parasite . my opinion they are a fluke or a nematode...these were found in the largest fish.it was a old fish,maybe 3 yrs. Old...
Flick em out and Scarf em down. And if that kind of worm is going to make anybody on this website hesitant to eat a fish, don't ever eat swordfish or tuna again. Trust me. I pulled parasites out of tuna steaks as thick as your forearm.
Very nice catch though Keith. I thought you were over in Tennessee?

Not yet,august 8 movers show up.not having a microscope to identify exactly i err on the side of caution.there are some species resistant to heat and freezing.not trying to tell people to not eat fish,just caution.

All they need to see is one show on the Monsters inside me, how those cyst protect it from freezing and heat.

I tried watching that show once...great if your dieting or if you want to give little kids nightmares...arggg. ...did you ever see the old x files episode where there was a human size fluke worm mutant living in outhouses and the sewer,awsome..there was no flicking,no scarfing,. They were prevalent in the interior, this was a area downstream of multiple septic systems...potentialy under or not at all maintained.consider that.
