Twice in the last week a canoe & kayak rental company (Mainstream) left their equipment at the West Hill boat launch overnight. There is some there right now from yesterday. It's usually crowded enough there. Legal?

They’re not “blocking” the ramp (as the sign requests) since they’re off to the side, but I would think CT DEEP would frown on leaving them there like that.

Not the greatest theft deterrent by Mainstream by leaving them there overnight either.

Yes call deep. Where is the launch
monitor. Who I believe gets paid and use of a state vehicle. He should be telling the owners to move them or at least call an officer to hand out some tickets. This is the reason I try not to go there in the summer. Too many people have no respect for the proper use of the launch and parking lot. Forgot the swimmers that are there almost every day leaving their belongings on the launch and parking in the parking lot that is for people legally using the launch. Good luck pc1024 I have mentioned all this to the launch monitor and the boating division and all they did was put up the “parking for launch use only” .

They got picked up this afternoon. Next time I'll call DEEP without hesitation. Yes, Trout Tracker, you are well aware of the problems there. Unfortunately the launch monitor has only been there a very limited time. He covers a lot of lakes. One small recent victory was to have a new guy to the area who was renting canoes & kayaks (West Hill WaterSports) from his cottage partially stopped due to zoning violations. He was transporting the vessels with a tractor and trailer without any registration plates. Now if the same guy will only stop using his pontoon boat with the 75 hp.. Four people called DEEP about it a few days ago but the guy left before DEEP got there.
