The early spring smallie bite has been everything from amazing to a grind. Soft jerkbaits, swimbaits and Ned rigs have been the baits of choice. The big storm last week flooded, muddied and cooled out the areas I’ve been targeting, but I’ve been persistent and my efforts have paid off. Some serious heavy weights battling and tail walking in that current has made it alot of fun.
Looks like you had a good bite going on. I am still amazed at an earlier post where you said you walked two miles to your spot on the Ct. River. There are roads on both sides of the river, can't you find a shorter way to get to you good spots?

I need the exercise! Lol Going isn’t bad, but those 2 miles back isn’t as much fun. These fish are staging and feeding up in backwater sloughs out of the main current. Access takes effort but I’m not scared to do the work.
