Well, we’ve wrapped up another year of raffling off the Champ, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes — and once again, not a single pike caught! 😅

Champion: Tyler Bannon (there’s an AirTag the qlaque — don’t lose it!) grin Enjoy the milkshake mug ;2nd Place: River Roamer
3rd Place: Mitch P

Big thanks to everyone for keeping this tradition alive and kicking. Always a good time, even if the fish don’t cooperate.

Kapt came well prepared, as always, with some great boat beers to share...



Kapt also brought some nice boat bites to hold us over until the post-fishing food ...

Managed a small striper and tiny largemouth on a spinner bait to keep our hopes up that we'd eventual get a pike, but that was it.

As usual, no one left the post-fishing gathering hungry or thirsty.

Thanks to all who came out and brought food to share, and of course Kapt came bearing a plehtora of Hooker giveaways!

Thanks to Blaine (2002 Champion!) for kicking in some Shimano goodies.

Thanks to Paul for being the long-running tournament director and getting the nice mugs for the winners. Once again ... all determined by raffle with no pike landed.

Sounds like everyone had a great time. I fished this years ago and never caught a pike but had a great time and great food and fun.

Thanks to Paul for organizing and to everyone who brought food and donated beer etc all of which as always was great. Was fun to see everyone from the Piketoberfest annual crew and some new faces despite the very disappointing lack of pike. Below is a pic of the river looking south from Haddam meadows from when we launched around 7:00am and a second pic of the only fish we saw which was a small LMB caught by River Roamer. If there was a prize for riding out the biggest waves from passing yachts, we would have been in contention for that.
