After a few dinkfests on the big river, the better fish are finally chewing. No magnums yet, but a dozen fun sizers eating on top made for a very enjoyable few hours of wading.
One bass had some sort of parasite or lice on it. Has anyone ever seen this before?
Also got checked by a very nice CO. We had a good chat about the ridiculous turkey and deer limits and the dramatic population declines. It was a very nice encounter and I wish the state would invest in more officers to better protect our outdoor resources.
Nice catch. I never saw anything like that on a fish. In Mansfield Hollow, Yellow perch and Sunnies on rare occasions had black pin-head sized dots. If you filleted and skinned one; there were little, 1/4 " or so dark brown worm like things in the flesh. Very gross. Still fun to catch and apparently not contagious as I am still here.
