Hello Encon
I just wanted to give you a heads up to some issues I have encountered recently. I'm not sure if this is something that falls under DEEP responsibility.
I headed out to Tyler Lake the other afternoon, knowing there was a chance that the launch may be fully occupied, to find 10 vehicles in the lot, of which only one was equipped with a trailer. The others did not have any type of kayak racks or similar device on them. It appears that the locals are using the launch as a parking lot for the private beach next door.
I then drove to Winchester, a place with ample parking, to find a dozen or more people swimming and partying at the launch ramp. This is not usually a big deal to me as this is common there, but these folks had their beach towels and partying implements all set up where I needed to back down the ramp. Little children were also allowed to play right in back of my rig as I was attempting to back down and the folks didn't seem to be too concerned that boats needed to use this area.
I am not sure of the regulations behind use of these facilities but it would be great if something could be done to deter this in the future.
