With the sea-duck season around the corner, I was thinking of hunting the Watch Hill and Napatree areas... the best launch is Barn Island to hunt those areas.

My question is: Can you launch at Barn Island (Ct) to hunt in Rhode Island waters on Sunday?

I am sure you can see it would be the as the fishing regs. Regs. apply where you launch & land. Land in CT then CT rules apply, regardless of where you take the birds.

There's a public launch in or near Westerly that I've used in the past. It a ride but there's no question your legal.

Absolutely legal to leave from CT and hunt in RI or NY on Sunday.

you would think this is no different than driving over to RI and coming back but then again who would have thought that for fishing it would be different. smile1 Looking forward to the response here.

I think the issue is that you have a gun in the "field" on Sunday, evidence of violation.

It's OK. Just a little common sense though. When you are coming back into CT waters, unload the shotguns and put them in a gun case. That way there is no question that you are not hunting in CT.
