Is it legal to shoot crows while duck hunting as long as the seasons coincide and you're using non toxic shot ?

.

"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.

Should be OK I would think. Make sure you follow the 500 foot rule though

I always thought it was kosher myself , but recently one of our gang has been saying it's not legal to shoot crows while you have duck dekes out .
Something about "Federal blah blah blah..." .

The guy knows his regs pretty well , great guy to hunt with , but the rest of us kinda pride ourselves on our knowledge of the rules and we'd love to trip him up just for the ballbusting rights.... cha

If I find out it's truly legal I'm not gonna say anything , I'm just gonna pop the first crow that slips up and laugh my nuts off . grin

If it's something new , then he gets a pat on the back for being up to date .

Yes perfectly legal. Crow hunting falls under small game laws not migratory birds. So you could in fact use lead shot while in an area where waterfowl are hunted, as long as you are not hunting waterfowl. You are also exempt from using fluorescent orange if you are in a stationary position ie duck blind or boat.
You could shoot a phesant while duck hunting as long as the phesant season is open and you have the tags.
Crow does not require HIP and a duck stamp.

If waterfowl hunting you may not have lead ammo.So if you got a Phesant while out Duck Hunting it has to be with Non Lead ammo.

Crows are small game. As long as the season is open you can shoot them while hunting waterfowl, deer, rabbits, squirrels or pheasants.

To play it safe I would recommend that you use steel shot on them as if you are in possession of lead shot while waterfowl hunting you would be in violation.
