I sit on the Beacon Falls EDC, and at our last meeting we were discussing the possibility of holding a fishing rodeo on the Naugy on opening day as a means of promoting the town. We won't be charging anything to participate, and would be giving away modest prizes.

Do we need a permit for this, or are there any other rules that we should be aware of? Thanks.
Bob

I've got gas and I've got crabs. You wanna go out?

Hi Bob, this is the response I got from Bill Foreman:
Keith,

Sorry, I let this one get buried in my inbox. Sounds like they may need one. I'm not in the office today, so perhaps you could have them call me tomorrow (Tuesday).

Note that we have an online system now (ezFile) for tournament permitting. Here's the how to get started blurb:

To get started:

1. Download Google Chrome

2. Copy this link into the Google Chrome https://filings.deep.ct.gov/DEEPPortal/Account/LoginDetails

3. Select “create an account”

4. Follow the instructions (should take about 5 minutes).

HINT: keep your password simple (type all lower case) and the answers to your questions even simpler. Please for future reference, write down your username, password and security question answers*.

Once you have established your user account you will be able to submit applications at your convenience.

Please contact me (860-424-3868, William.foreman@ct.gov) or Luis Organista (860-424-3181, luis.organista@ct.gov) should you have any questions concerning submittal/status of your permit.

*For questions about your user account contact Mike Beauchene at mike.beauchene@ct.gov or 860-424-4185.

Thanks, Keith. We'll be discussing the details at our next EDC meeting and follow up from there with the permit app.
