Mr DEeP officer,

It is March and the water is warming quickly.

Are you aware of when the 2016 regulations will be released?

Thank you

Chris

...and...is there ANY intent for CT DEEP to publish the regs BY January 1st of each calendar year? It's quite frankly pretty pathetic regs aren't published by Jan 1st.....and pushing not being published in the 1st quarter of the year is unacceptable. Does DEEP even recognize this as a problem?....and a sign of mismanagement?....they should.

My vote is that fishing licenses should be good for the period of published regs. I should not have to buy a 2016 fishing license on January 1st 2016 when the fisheries "management" can't provide me the regs until March+ of 2016. 2015 paid for licenses should be valid at least until the 2016 regs are published. I am all for paying for a Jan 1st license with a Jan 1st reg book....as things should be.

Please feel free to funnel my comments up the DEEP management ladder, and I am more than willing to speak with or meet with them to discuss further.

Who cares? Wouldn't last years regulations still be current at this moment?

No. Specifically calls out 2015 only.

I disagree. If you wanted to keep a striped bass right now, and were stopped by Enconn I believe they would refer to the regulations in place which were printed last year. They would refer to those regulations up until the day the new ones are posted.

.....which I too believe is true, and what my logic to them would be, but they need to get off their duffs, make some decisions manyyyyyy months ago on what they want to do, and PUBLISH the 2016 regs.......just like any other business has to manage what they do. It's plain mismanagement the way it's currently done.

I don't blame the field officers, but I do blame the CT DEEP "management." Step it up guys!

It takes a while to sort though all the made up data from last years overage catch.
