Venison shepherds pie for dinner tonight. Peel and cube 4-5 potatoes and boil in salted water until fork tender. Sauté burger until brown. Put burger in the bottom of a 13” x 9” pan. Season with S&P, garlic powder, onion powder. Pour 2 cans of creamed corn and a can of sweet peas on top of the meat. Drain and mash the potatoes and I add sour cream, butter and half and half or milk until creamy. Spread over the veggies and meat and top with more butter and a little paprika for color. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes until heated through. Enjoy!
"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.

I agree, but either will work. Some even use frozen mixed veggies with carrots etc… It’s all good.
I'm with you there, as you say, it is all good. So many options, that is why I love making it. When I was young and poor and didn't have piles of venison, I used to buy these cheap frozen tubes of ground lamb - that made an awesome pie. You can add cheese to the potatoes (I don't' usually), you can herb and garlic the heck out of the meat (I don't always), make a gravy (sometimes do), etc... It all goes and is all good and each batch is different.
