This is pretty frustrating. There is a resident at 27 Railroad Ave. in Beacon Falls who is pushing trash and construction debris up to the edge of the river with a Bobcat. Then when the river rises it all magically goes away. Although they are trying, the town has not been successful in stopping this slob. I have called the DEEP tip line and that was not successful either. I even went so far as to call my state rep. She contacted DEEP and a nice lady called me and suggested that I talk to local zoning officials and perhaps the Health Dept.
Here is the view of his back yard as seen from the Main St side of the river:
Everyone seems to have suggestions, but no one has done anything to stop this mess. I have spent too many days in waders pulling shopping carts, tires, and God only knows what else out of this river to stand by idly while this is going on.
My friend Dave Faber, an avid kayaker on the river, called DEEP and was told to take some pictures while the river is up and the stuff is washing away.
Sorry, but that is precisely what we are trying to prevent.
Is there anyone at DEEP who is responsible for taking action here?
I've got gas and I've got crabs. You wanna go out?

Town Inland Wetland Commission, they probably have a wetlands enforcement agent just like a zoning enforcement agent/officer. They likely have a buffer of some distance from the river which they regulate, most towns it's between 50-100'.

I will have a SW Officer look into it. We may have some jurisdiction along the river's edge but I'm not 100% sure. It may fall into the conservation commission's hands in the town of Beacon Falls. It also depends on where his property line is. Give me a few days, I will certainly look into it.
