Have you read this whole post from start to end ???
I have heard no other arguements to keep opening day other than tradition and $$$.
what benifits are there to not being able to trout fish right now ? Who and what is being protected by the closed season ?.
and I am smart enough to know I can trout fish all year round if I want to.
So again why do we have an oipening day but yet you can legally fish for trout year round in some spots.
The trout fishery is being sold out in the name of $$ and tradition. 60% the trout caught the first two weeks after the "season" opens represents approximatley 540,000 trout caught/killed out of 900,000 stocked annually.Is this really makeing the best of the resource and giving the anglers of CT the most bang for their buck ?
