I didn't read back to see it this was already mentioned, but last week I heard a radio add for the first time ever. The DEP was reminding all fishermen that opening day was this comming Saturday. It went on to also say that the licenses were available at area bait shops and all Town Halls.

I'm torn - It is obviously a primary source of DEP finding, so I guess the way things are set up financially, it very important that they sell as many liscenses as possible. However the fact that this the "primary source of DEP finding" is a pathetic insight at how the the DEP is funded.

I blame the political process, not the DEP. We should be demanding more and $#*& the General Fund abyss.
