6.April: Bill C. was standing by his truck when I arrived behind Bart's ~4:30 pm after work. As I was setting up, Sissy and Dylan pulled up. The water was at about the same level as the day before, clear, no junk floating by, languid current, and a surface temp just a hair under 50ºF. For the next hour and a half, we all took casting practice. The only rumor of shad was that an "old guy" had caught 2 in the morning. Dylan reported that he caught his 2nd shad of the year a couple of days ago, and that was earlier in the day, about noon-ish.

The action seems to be best, what little there is, earlier in the day, when I am at work. With the temps rising to the 80's next week, things should heat up. (I know, get thee to a punnery...)
