Greg, Saugatuck Reservoir has the best potential in producing trophy LMB's in my opinion. You are right, no one seems to think that way, or some may not even know the lake, but it is a sleeper. Being limited to shorefishing, and with the vegetation being so scarce, we may not see anything of considerable size.
However, the other side of the Reservoir,(from which we are not allowed to fish) looks like a whole different lake. Structure, weeds, running brooks and small coves. A totally different environement, mainly because it is natural, the Saugatuck River channel runs along the east side.

But whatever you do, obey the rules. Do not venture out and try hiking to the east shore. You will surely end up in jail. I'm just reffering to those who may be tempted to do so, not anyone in particular. Aquarion Police always patrols the area, night or day, and they do use night-vision equipment, so beware...
