I've fished Gardner at least 75 times. I caught a 7 pound bass there in 1998. I know of many bass in the 6 and 7 pound range caught there, but none were 8 pounds or bigger. I seriously doubt that Gardner will ever produce a state record largemouth, its more of a "numbers" smallmouth lake with a large population of smallmouth in the 3/4 pound to 3 1/4 pound range.

I think there is a much better chance at Long Meadow for a 9 or 10 pound bass, but even they will be very rare.
